Paulo José Paupitz Gonçalvez

Prof. Paulo is co-responsible for the (WP3) work package on nonlinear metamaterials together with Prof. Michael J. Brennan. This package involves researchers working in two different campus of Unesp (Ilha Solteira and Bauru) where numerical and experimental works will be carried out. The scientific challenges in this work package requires experience in performing experimental tests that can validate mathematical models and methods coupling two fields in the structural dynamics area, which are the study of structural wave motion and the dynamics of nonlinear discrete elements. Prof. Paulo has about 10 years experience working for industry such as Ford and Embraer. During this time he has gained experience on performing vibration and acoustics measurements in small and large scale structures working in the tests divisions for these companies. Since 2012 he has an academic position at the faculty of Engineering in Bauru, where he coordinated founded projects for CNPq, Fapesp and private sector. During this time he has supervised master dissertations and PhD thesis and various undergrad projects and he is currently a CNPq PQ-2 researcher. Prof. Paulo currently coordinates a prominent research group at Unesp-Bauru with many undergrad and graduate students and he is involved in international work collaboration with the University of Sheffield (UK), University of Glasgow (UK), INSA Centre Val de Loire (France), Zayed University (Uni. Arab Emirates) and Dalian University of Technology (China).

The research group includes:

  • Daniel Martins
  • Douglas Roca Santo
  • Felipe Alves Anézio
  • Gabriella Furlan Nehemy
  • Massa K. Dourado
  • Camila Albertin Xavier
